Show chords as letters, numbers or numerals

Some players read chord letters. Others read the chord's position in the key. Each person picks the one they read fastest.

Steps

  1. Open any song.
  2. Tap the settings icon at the top right. Preferences opens.
  3. Under Song View, tap the top row of the card. It names the style you're on now and shows an example of it.
  1. Choose American, Numbers or Numerals.
  2. Close the modal. The song redraws behind it.

Good to know

  • American is chord letters: C#, D, E. It's what most chord sheets use.
  • Numbers writes each chord as its position in the key: 1, 2, 3. Numerals writes the same positions as Roman numerals: I, II, III.
  • Either way the chart reads the same whatever key the song is in.
  • This is your own setting, and it applies to every song you open from now on.
